The site search engine

All Sites4Doctors sites have a powerful search facility based on the Zoom search engine. This works in a very similar way to Internet search systems like Google, but is used to search just the content of the practice site.

Simple searches can be done from any page, and advanced searches use a separate form.

Many search engines can only ’read’ the text of web pages, but our Zoom Indexer is set up to index all the text of Word, WordPerfect, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents too.

The indexer is run automatically to re-index each client site every week and the scheduler is checked each week to ensure that all sites have been indexed. This ensures that search results always keep pace with the development of your site - and is far more frequent than ’spidering’ by any of the major Internet search engines.

If you make any urgent changes to your site, just send us an email and we will be happy to run the indexer so these changes will be instantly accessible to your site search engine.
